The abomination of desolation spoken of in Daniel refers to idolatry and spiritual destruction, it has nothing to do with an end-times earthly jewish temple.
The term abomination of desolation is found twice in the Old Testament, and also twice in the New Testament (Daniel 11:31, 12:12, Mat 24:15, Mar 13:14).
- Many false teachers in the Christian church proclaim that the abomination of desolation was fulfilled when Antiochus Epiphanies sacrificed a pig on the altar of a temple in Jerusalem.
- Others believe that the Antichrist will perform a similar abomination in a future Jewish temple that has yet to be built.
- It is essential to understand the temple that Yahweh dwelt in after revealing Himself in the flesh at His first coming.
Within Christian eschatology, it is almost exclusively taught that the Antichrist will confirm a covenant with the jews for seven years. And in the middle of this week, he causes the sacrifices and offerings to cease. Then on a wing of the temple he sets up the abomination that causes this desolation. The word antichrist is a poor translation. Messiah can not be transliterated as Christ. Therefore, antichrist needs to be translated as an opponent of the Messiah.
- The antichrist does not confirm the covenant with anyone. He is however very much opposed to the Holy Covenant as set forth by Messiah the Savior who is the image of Yahweh (Dan 11:28-30).
- There will be no seven-year treaty with the jewish people. Also, the man of sin will not break a treaty halfway through the great tribulation.
- The Great Tribulation only has a duration of 3 ½ years (Dan 12:7).
- There will never be a rebuilt jewish temple or a re instituted sacrificial system recognized by Yahweh (Heb 9:26).
- Messiah the Savior is the one who caused the sacrifices to cease (Heb 7:27).
- It is impossible for the antichrist (the opponent of Messiah) to sit in a literal building called the temple of god, at least not Yahweh’s temple.
The introductory articles entitled he shall confirm the Covenant with many for one week, and he as god sits in the temple of god, will confirm the six aforementioned facts. The member study guides will provide critical spiritual insights that will expose the false teachings that are passed off as Christian eschatology. We must not adhere to the Judeo-Christian deceptions.
What Is The Abomination Of Desolation?
Matt 15:8-9 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men
Some would ask, what is the abomination of desolation? A better question would be what are the wretched spiritual conditions (the abominations), that cause these desolations to occur? Consider the teachings within the religion of talmudic judaism. According to this source, the talmud is Satanic, and the tradition of the elders that the Messiah referred to began during the Babylonian captivity.
Talmudic judaism is based primarily on the books and oral writing (usually composed by Rabbis) contained within the talmud and the kabbalah. Rabbinic Judaism, which is based on the dual Torah, was not the religion practiced by the Hebrews prior to their captivity.
Religious people simply follow after the commandments and doctrines of men, this includes many converts within mainstream Christianity.
There are six sins that Yahweh hates (Pro 6:12-15). However, there are seven sins that are an abomination to Him (Pro 6:16-19).
- A proud look, as opposed to humility
- Those who are deceitful babblers
- The ones who shed innocent blood
- A heart that devises wicked imaginations
- Feet that are swift in running to mischief
- A false witness that speaks lies
- And he that plants discord among the brethren
These abdominal sins mentioned above occur naturally when idolatry is practiced and when self-worship is perfected.
Matt 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves
An abomination refers to a great sin, whereas the abomination that causes desolations represents the sin of idolatry.
Mal 2:11 Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of Yahweh which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god
Israel committed incredibly wicked acts of whoredoms against Yahweh, and the first Covenant promise would become void to those that violated the conditions set therein (Deut 28:1-64).
Prov 29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked
The actual identify the Great Whore.is not understood by religious-minded (yet spiritually bankrupt) men. The Great Whore would excel in bringing idolatry and deception to these false teachers, and many others, thus perfecting the art of perversion and deceit that she once was a student of.
Jer 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the whore also
Sometimes a bad marriage must end with a divorce especially when adultery is involved; the false house of Judah that committed adultery was also put away for these sins.
Matt 23:37-38 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee…behold, your house is left unto you desolate
Spiritual Abominations cause Desolations
When speaking regarding the buildings of the temple our Savior the Messiah declared to his disciples that there would not be left one stone upon another, that would not be thrown down (Mark 13:2). He speaks of the abomination of desolation later on in verse fourteen, but makes no reference to this event occurring in a temple setting, and neither does Daniel.
Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains
The final abominable desolation is during the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation. This is not a temple event, and the day is fast approaching wherein no man will be able to buy or sell because of the little horn that rules the fourth world kingdom.
Mystery Babylon, that is the mother of the Great Whore is the mastermind of spiritual abominations that cause incredibly vile desolations to transpire.
Matt 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Messiah speaks of the events leading up to his second advent wherein He will reign on earth for a thousand years (Mat 24:15-31, Mark 13:1-27, Mark 13:1-28, Rev 20:4).
His reference to Daniel’s prophecy becoming fulfilled is linked to those who are in Judea that must flee. This is obviously an end time event with tribulations or afflictions unparalleled in human history (Mat 24:16).
Mark 13:19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which Yahweh created unto this time, neither shall be
A false messiah and a false prophet will arise to deceive if it were possible even Yahweh’s elect. Also, this man of sin, who is the opponent of the Messiah is commissioned to make war with the Saints for forty-two months (Rev 13:5-7, Mat 24:24).
When our Savior opens the first seal, the arrival of the false christ, who is the rider on the white horse is revealed. This beast arises from the sea, and so begins the Great Tribulation.
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer
The abomination that will cause desolation’s spoken of in Daniel confirms the fact that this end- time destruction commences at the beginning of the 3 ½ year Great Tribulation. This is also the prophetic fulfillment of the last part of Dan 9:27, even until the end and that which is determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Without the Spirit of Yahweh residing within us we are indeed desolate.
When the abomination that maketh desolate is established
Dan 12:10-11 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. And from the time that the continual shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days
From the time that the abomination causing desolation’s is set up (or established) there is 3 ½ years plus a month. This corresponds closely with the timing of the Great Tribulation which is three and a half years, or a time plus times and the dividing of time.
Dan 7:25 And he (the little horn) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time
When we utilize the Strong’s Concordance and analyze the words in Dan 11:31 as they were intended, a different message unfolds. It becomes clear that the insertion of the word sacrifice is deceptive, and part of the plan to sell the story of a re instituted jewish sacrificial system.
Dan 11:31 And arms <H2220> shall stand <H5975> on his part, and they shall pollute <H2490> the sanctuary <H4720> of strength <H4581>, and shall take away <H5493> the daily <H8548> sacrifice, and they shall place <H5414> the abomination <H8251> that maketh desolate <H8074>
Sanctuary can refer to a holy place such as Yahweh’s holy mountain, and daily is in reference to the continual.
Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate
The power to remain and pollute the holy place and the strength to take away the continual, setting up the abomination that maketh desolations.
Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him
Satan’s false messiah will indeed pollute the holy place which is Yahweh’s holy mountain. Simply put, worshipping Satan and the Beast is an abomination that will cause eternal desolations.
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name
It is important not to confuse the Great Tribulation with the wrath of Yahweh. The false teachers in the church, attempt to link the wrath and this end-time period of tribulations in order to sell the pre-tribulation rapture hoax.
Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh
The destruction of the Great Whore comes with the establishment of the fourth beast system that will expose and destroy her through the combined hatred and power of the ten kings.
Rev 17:16-17 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the (great) whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For Yahweh hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of Yahweh shall be fulfilled
An abomination that causes desolation’s involves spiritual idolatry that leads to an eternal separation from Yahweh, it can also have devastating physical repercussions as well.
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day [that] I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was an husband unto them, saith Yahweh
Messiah is the image of Yahweh, and this mystery is confirmed when we read and understand Jeremiah 31:32, and Hebrews 8:1-13. With the New Covenant, there would also be a new temple that Messiah the Savior would reside in.
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith Yahweh
Messiah did, in fact, establish a new covenant with the true house of Israel and Judah (Heb 8:8). The identity of the actual Israel of Yahweh is a mystery to most; as is the timing when the real second gathering of Israel will occur.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away
Messiah established His second covenant unto mankind, in order to take away the sins of the world. Under the Old Testament Law, there was a temporary covering for sins and the need for continual sacrifices for those transgressions.
Messiah was manifest in the flesh to provide a final sacrifice for the sins of the Old and New Testament saints alike. Because of the New Testament Covenant, there could never be another earthly temple with animal sacrifices, as this would be an abomination unto Yahweh.
Prov 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh: but the prayer of the upright is his delight
Which Temple becomes Desolate?
Whatever Antiochus Epiphanies did or did not do in a jewish temple, it is irrelevant to Yahweh’s message on the abomination of desolation for several reasons.
- This Antiochus Epiphanies event would have occurred many decades before the first advent of Messiah.
- Messiah speaks of this prophecy that Daniel made as occurring in the future.
As mentioned earlier in this article with the advent of the new covenant there was also the emphasis on a different temple.
2 Thes 2:4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as a god sits in the temple of god, showing himself that he is god
Unbelievably there are many (who claim to be Spirit-filled believers) that use this passage in second Thessalonians as a proof text that the abomination is describing the son of perdition who sits in a jewish temple claiming to be god. When those claiming to be Christians, protect a belief system that is not based on the Word of Yahweh, this is an identification of a Christian Cult.
Simply put, 2 Thes 2:4 is in reference to Satan dwelling where he ought not to. We can allow the spirit of Yahweh to reside within us, or the spirit of the god of this world.
In the New Testament, there are two separate words that are both translated as temple. The four verses below are in reference to a dwelling place (G3485), or temple, that can be destroyed.
1 Cor 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of Yahweh, and that the Spirit of Yahweh dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of Yahweh, him shall Yahweh destroy; for the temple of Yahweh is holy, which temple ye are
The Elect of Yahweh are the temple that He resides in through His Holy Spirit.
1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of Yahweh, and ye are not your own?
Yahweh’s possession of those who are considered to be His children is one of proprietary rights, in that they are in His custody or care and are bought with a price (1Cor 6:20, 7:23).
Acts 17:24 Yahweh that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Yahweh of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands
Both Acts 17:24, and Rev 11:2-3, prove that the abomination that causes desolations has nothing to do with a physical earthy temple or building.
Rev 11:2-3 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the nations: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth
The other word translated as temple as used in Luke 19:45. (G2411) can be used to reference a building or a house.
Luke 19:45-46 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves
Messiah declared behold your house is left unto you desolate. The Spirit of Yahweh did not reside in this jewish temple any longer because of the overspreading of abominations, it was determined to be desolate (Mat 23:38, Dan 9:27).
Luke 13:34-35 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee… behold, your house is left unto you desolate
