An essential end times prophecy that is widely misunderstood is the teaching related to Mystery Babylon the great.
Mystery Babylon (a word that means confusion), represents the false messiah, the false prophet, and Satan himself. Most so-called end times prophecy teachers claim that Mystery Babylon and the great whore are synonymous with each other; nothing could be further from the truth.
Mystery Babylon is the mother of the Harlot, in that she gives birth to the Great Whore. The word whore is utilized five times in the book of Revelations, and in one of these verses, the word harlot is inserted without just cause.
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery Babylon the Great, the mother of Harlots and abominations of the earth
Mystery Babylon the Great is the architect of the abominations of the earth, and also the mother of the Whore (Rev 17:5).
The mother and her daughter do indeed have striking similarities, including the ability to deceive multitudes with deadly consequences.
Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters
The ten kings that give their allegiance to the Beast, will destroy this great whore (Rev 17:16) Mystery Babylon, however, is destroyed directly by the hand of Yahweh (Rev 18:8).
2 Thes 2:9-12 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause Yahweh shall send them strong delusions, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
End times Prophecies are Destined to be Revealed
The spiritual idolatry brought about by the Great Whore, will set the stage for the arrival of the ultimate master of deception. With incredible lying signs and wonders, the man of sin (also known as the Anti-Christ – correctly translated as an opponent of Messiah) will easily deceive most of the world’s inhabitants. His control over the hearts and minds of mankind is in reference to the mark of the Beast, representing complete spiritual control over those who are the workers of iniquity (Pro 10:29, 2 Thes 2:8-12, Luke 13:27, Rev 13:11-14).
Mark 13:22 For a false Messiah and a false prophet shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect
During the Great Tribulation (the final 3 1/2 years of this present age), the false Messiah and the false prophet will come forth (Rev 19:20). Messiah the Savior, who is the image of Yahweh manifest in the flesh, clearly explains the events that will unfold before, during, and after the great tribulation.
End times events, including the ability to understand the final mystery Babylon system should not be a guessing game. Through the Spirit of Yahweh, we can clearly observe, and easily avoid Satan’s deceptions.
Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour (or make accusations against) the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces
Interestingly enough, the phrase he who now restrains, is not found anywhere in scripture. The one that is taken out of the way is the man of sin; he is also called the beast. Yahweh’s Spirit is not removed from the earth, nor are His true believers during the fictitious rapture.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
The “he who now restrains” theory that the Holy Spirit is removed, along with the church at the end of Revelation chapter three, is complete nonsense.
2 Thes 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
What Paul is saying here is that we are not to be deceived, as the mystery of iniquity is already working. But now hold fast (to what you have been taught), until the one that works iniquity is taken out from among you.
Messiah the Savior will return once again at the last trump, which is at the end of the great tribulation (1 Thes 4:16). Also, it should be noted that the great tribulation is not the wrath of Yahweh.
The mystery of iniquity represents the deception of Satan, blinding men from the truth revealed through the Spirit of Yahweh. This iniquity will only intensify at we approach the end of this age.
Satan’s plan towards mankind is that of death and destruction. He is the architect behind the scenes controlling all false religions that practice idolatry and deceit.
Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Almost the entire focus of Revelation chapters 17 through 19, are on Mystery Babylon. Interestingly enough, only six verses in these chapters are devoted to the Great Whore, and in these six verses the following is revealed:
- John is told that the judgment of the Great Whore will be revealed to him (Rev 17:1).
- A brief description of the Great Whores sins are given, explaining why she is to be judged (Rev 17:2).
- The place she occupies is given (Rev 17:1, 15).
- This judgment is indeed revealed to be at the hands of the ten kings that destroy her (Rev 17:16).
- Yahweh is righteous in His judgment of the Whore (Rev 19:2).
End Time Revelations of Mystery Babylon
Rev 19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
The Great Whore is not Mystery Babylon, as one gives birth to the other. Also, the Whore is destroyed by ten kings (Rev 17:16), whereas Mystery Babylon is destroyed by Yahweh Himself (Rev 18:20-23).
This Great Whore (that represents spiritual idolatry), occupies the minds of many who have been indoctrinated by her spirit of deception.
The headquarters of her Spiritual deception if you will, is very well known if one has Spiritual eyes to see! The Whore occupies a place and represents a people group, that have corrupted others through great idolatry (Rev 17:15).
The vast majority of the world is already drunk from the deception and idolatry that this Whore system has produced, at the hands of Mystery Babylon. Without the power of the Holy Spirit of truth, end times prophecy will remain a mystery (Eph 1:10-14).
The ten kings will destroy the place and power of the Great Whore system. The beast will rule the final world kingdom up until the arrival of Yahweh and His Saints.
The word mystery is used twenty-seven times in the New Testament.
- Twenty-two times it is used in reference to the mystery of the Gospel, the Mystery of Yahweh even the secret things of Messiah.
- The key to the mystery of our Messiah, and His Gospel, that can only be known through His Holy Spirit, is described (Eph 3:4-5).
- Twice it is used to describe Satan’s system, known as Mystery Babylon, and the city he desecrates (Rev 17:18; Rev 14:8; Rev 16:19; Rev 18:10; 16, 18,19, 21).
- The mystery of the blindness of Israel after the flesh is referred to in Rom 11:15.
- It is also used in reference to the mystery of iniquity (2 Thes 2:7). The identity of the architect of this “mystery of iniquity,” is unknown to those those that are blinded by him, as he is the god of this world (2 Cor 4:1-14).
Iniquity is the violation of the Law of Messiah, and all who are offended by Him are the workers of iniquity (Rom 8:2; 10:4; 1 John 3:4; Math 23:28; Math 13:41; 2 Cor 6:14).
The Great Tribulation is not the Wrath of Yahweh and this is a fundamental end times Prophecy. No one will be able to buy or sell once the Beast that rules the fourth World Kingdom arrives unless they pledge allegiance to him and Satan. Those who have allowed wolves posing as shepherds to have authority over them will fall away from the faith when the true followers of Yahweh are slaughtered like sheep (Rom 8:36).
2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto Yahweh, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Those whose faith rests in a pre-tribulation escape clause, and the doctrine of the trinity, probably also believe they are already saved. We encourage you to submit to the teachings of Yahweh (by means of the infilling of His Spirit), in order to determine just how wrong the false teachers truly are. The doctrines of men that are contrary to the true Gospel message need to be avoided.
The false preachers in the various religions deny Yahweh by reason of their damnable heresies and bring upon themselves and their blind follower’s swift destruction (2 Peter 2:1, John 16:7, Luke 6:39).
