Christ in the Old Testament
The prophecies regarding Christ in the Old Testament, are confirmed or fulfilled throughout the duration of the New Testament age.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The names or titles given to Christ (the Messiah) are hard to dismiss and the understanding of these names are essential if we are to comprehend the true identity of God.
- Wonderful
- Counsellor
- The mighty God
- The everlasting Father
- The Prince of Peace
- Immanuel
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel
Immanuel means God with us. And the manifestation of the Messiah in the flesh was necessary, as the salvation of the Saints could not be obtained by any other means (Mat 1:21-23, Dan 7:18-24).
Dan 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Christ in the Old Testament is called the ancient of days. The fulfillment of Dan 7:22, will transpire at Christ’s second advent (Mat 24:31, 2 Tim 4:1, 8, Rev 11:15).
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour
The Hebrew word transliterated as Yasha (H 3467) has several different meanings including deliver from, save or rescue. It can also refer to the savior of the world.
Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; humble, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass
The words added (in non-italics) to the above verse changes its intended meaning. The king comes (as the ) righteous Savior, is the proper translation. The words, he is just, really only refer to the word just, better translated as righteous or righteousness. Also, the words, and having salvation, only refer to the word salvation, better translated as Savior (See Isa 45:21 for context).
Psa 48:10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Christ does not sit at the right hand of God. Yahshua is the right hand (or power) of God that created all things.
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
In the verse above the word on is inserted incorrectly. The correct word to be used is as, which denotes a fixed position in place or time.
Matt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory
Yahshua is God, and yet His glorious name has been removed from the Holy Scriptures. Another name for the One true God is Yahweh, and this name is not found anywhere in scripture either. This represents a criminal act better known as a conspiracy against Christ, who is the image of the invisible God and the Creator of all things (Col 1:15-19).

The true identity of Christ in the Old Testament is obscured by leaving out his name completely (Isaiah 25:9, Psalms 20:5, Gen 49:18).
Isaiah 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is Yahweh we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation
Although the true identity of Christ in the Old Testament is clearly revealed, there has been a concerted effort to mask or hide this through intentional manipulation of the Word of God.
And it shall be said in that day, God we have waited for our Salvation, Yahweh we have waited, we will be joyful and rejoice in Yahshua (Isaiah 25:9).
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
Yahshua said, “I and the Father are one”, and “if you have seen me you have seen the Father” (John 10:30, 14:7-9).
Matt 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity
