The Teaching of Jesus Christ
An important teaching of Jesus Christ is the warning that many would come and use His name claiming to be of Him. These impostors would deceive many (Math 24:5).
Mark 13:5-6 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am (Christ and) shall deceive many.
In the verse above, there are two words inserted that are inappropriate.
1- The word Christ, does not appear in the original Greek
2- The word and, actually means also or as well.
The message that Jesus is declaring is that, many would come in His name and say “I am with (Him) also”.
2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Only those who truly abide in Christ see this deception for what it is.
Matt 24:24 For there shall arise a false Christ, and a false prophet, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
The Teaching of Jesus Christ – Beware of the Deceptive Teachings of Men
Jesus will say to many upon his Second Coming, “depart from me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you”.
We are to cast off the works of darkness brought by the traditions of men, and embrace the true teaching of Jesus Christ. He is that light illuminating our path towards fellowship with Him.
Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
John did not baptize with water and expect immediate repentance, it would be a process.
Likewise, sanctification and belief of the truth are unto the Assurance of Salvation, ready to be revealed at the last day.
This teaching of Jesus Christ is one of the essential doctrines of the Christian Faith, yet very few understand it.
Many false teachers proclaim that Salvation is accomplished through a formula of words to be recited.
The teaching of Jesus Christ tells us that the elect are sealed unto the day of redemption, which is when they receive their Salvation upon His Second coming (Eph 4:30; Heb 9:28).
We can have the Assurance of Salvation; however many who claim a false salvation that is based upon self-righteousness, and the gospel of men. These will be damned as a result of not truly living in or for Christ (Jer 17:13, Psalm 101:4, Mathew 7:15-23).
The teaching of Jesus Christ on the essential doctrine of Salvation, is that he who endures until the end will be saved.
The teaching of Jesus Christ regarding idolatry is widely ignored in the church today.
Without His Holy Spirit, we can not know Christ and he does not know us, and idolatry is almost guaranteed to occur.
Idolatry involves everything in our lives that distracts us from worshiping and obeying God.
1 Cor 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
The teaching of Jesus Christ regarding those who claim to be pastors, but are merely false teachers that lead people astray, are widely ignored.
2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables
Christ is the head of the church and no man can legally take the title of Rabbi, Father, or Shepherd. Christ is our only Shepherd, and yet mere men are idolized today by many.
John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
So often, the words of men become more import than the teaching of Jesus Christ.
Christianity unfortunately, has become just another religion to so many.
Declaring that god wants to bless us with the desires of our flesh is the new gospel presented by the false teachers in the Church. This is indeed idolatry, but it is widely accepted.
1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned
An essential teaching of Jesus Christ is that we are the temple of God. The Spirit of God, however, will not dwell in a temple that is unfit for his presence.
We must not defile our temple with idolatry (1 Cor 6:19; 1 Cor 3:16; 2 Cor 6:16).
The false teachers in the Church today operate in the flesh and regard the things of the flesh.
They are in fact blind to the truth and purpose of this life which is in Christ. As a result of their guidance as it were, those that they teach also have a focus on material things and selfish desires. These people want a god that will accept their self righteousness and worldly pursuits, and still consider them holy.
False teachers in the Church deceive by omission; this is when they leave out the teaching of Jesus Christ to present their truth. This is also known as propaganda.
The false prosperity message from the mouths of the false teachers in the church is “If you ask and believe all things will be yours” (Mat 21:22).
So often we ask and do not receive, because we ask in the spirit of our own lusts. Our prayers are so often towards wealth and prosperity. The love of money and the lusts of this world are indeed idolatry, according to the teaching of Jesus Christ.
1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Our greatest desires should be to receive the Comforter that enables us to understand His words of truth.
The teaching of Jesus Christ instructs us to seek first the kingdom of God (James 4:3-4; Math 6:33).
The New Law and teaching of Jesus Christ is recorded for us in the first book of His testimony (Math 22: 36-40).
The false teachers in the Christian Church need to keep people under the bondage of the Old Testament law primarily to keep the tithes coming in.
A secondary motive is to feed their misled flock with a false sense of security in salvation through works.
This prevents the true Baptism of the Holy Spirit and a real relationship with Christ from occurring. It is easy to control a church that does not have the mind of Christ.
Tithing is a terrible lie, not only because it is not of the teaching of Jesus Christ, but it also leads to idolatry.
For most who claim to be Christians, the following works give them the illusion of becoming born again and receiving salvation.
- They know of Christ but fail to have an intimate relationship with Him.
The teaching of Jesus Christ is revealed in the New Covenant of Christ. Without his Spirit abiding in us we are not of Him (James 2:26; 1 John 3:24; 1 John 4:6).
- They tithe ten percent of their income to a church group.
The remainder then is for them to do with as they wish. Tithing is of the Old Testament Law, that no longer applies after Christ.
- They keep the Sabbath or at least pretend to keep a part of it holy.
The rest of the week it is not so important. One day is for the Lord and the rest of the week is for their selfish desires.
- Submitting to the control of an individual that claims to be Gods representative, and receiving spiritual instruction from the same.
Christ is the only true Shepherd and Bishop of our souls. Why is it that men look to other men for answers instead of the Word of God?
This same group claims to be born again as a result of the above ordinances they follow; yet they are forever learning and not able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Christ never spoke of keeping the Sabbath. We are under no obligation to keep or observe this as a day of rest.
The teaching of Jesus Christ is to keep every day as unto the Lord.
We are all to bear the cross with our eyes set on Jesus, thus fulfilling the mission of becoming part of the church. The average person thinks that the Christian experience involves the following:
- Spending an hour a week at a building that is incorrectly referred to as a church.
- Giving money, incorrectly referred to as tithes, to 501c3 corporations posing as the church.
- Repeating verses that they are led to recite under the illusion that doing so will ensure their immediate salvation.
These actions have nothing to do with bearing the cross of Christ; they prove a complete lack of the Spiritual understanding and depth required to follow Christ.
There is no profit in this pretend game of playing church that so many succumb to. There is however great profit for the false teachers in the Christian Church, who have convinced their congregation that the reality of Godliness they seem to possess, is as good as it gets.
The teaching of Jesus Christ and the New Covenant Law
To claim to be justified by the old law is actually a departure from the teaching of Jesus Christ on this subject (Gal 5:4; Gal 5:18). You will never hear this truth presented by the false teachers in the Christian Church.
Rom 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect
Those that think they are justified by the old law are ignorant of the teaching of Jesus Christ and His New Testament covenant. These misguided souls will not partake in the new promise and inheritance.
The Old Testament Law has been replaced by the New Testament Covenant. As a result of the death and resurrection of Christ, true Spirit-filled believers understand that they are no longer under the Old Law according to the teaching of Jesus Christ.
Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Christ fulfilled the Old Testament law or contract, and once a contract has expired or is completed it is no longer in force.
Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
The Old Testament Law has been replaced by the New Testament Covenant. As a result of the death and resurrection of Christ, true Spirit-filled believers are not under the Old Testament Law. This teaching of Jesus Christ should be easy to understand, but so many are blind to this essential Christian doctrine (1 Cor 3:14; 2 Cor 4:4).
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
The Old Testament law is fulfilled in Christ, and they are revealed to us in the New Testament Covenant.
To claim to be justified by the old law is actually a separation from Christ, as you are fallen from grace and not led by the spirit of truth (Gal 5:4; Gal 5:18). You will never hear this truth presented by the false teachers in the Church.
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
An essential teaching of Jesus Christ is understanding that our teacher ultimately is the Holy Spirit that Christ sent to us. Once we have the infilling of His Spirit, we can know the truth that sets us free from the bondage of deceit, false hopes and deceptive illusions.
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
One of the essential doctrines for Christians is that it is impossible to mix the New Testament Covenant that has the saving blood of Christ, with the Old Testament Law that did not. They simply are contrary to one another.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:20-22 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Putting new wine into an old bottle will cause both to perish because the old bottle is not designed for the new. Under the Old Testament Law, there was a temple that God’s Spirit dwelt in. The new teaching of Jesus Christ is that we are the temple that he dwells in (1 Cor 3:16-17; 1 Cor 6:19).
Man-made institutions, governments and bureaucracies are more often than not full of deceit. The teaching of Jesus Christ declares that satan is the god of this world, and he has infiltrated most of them. Satan has indeed placed false teachers in the Christian Church, and apostates in schools of theology as well. The Christian believer must rely on the Holy Spirit to uncover or reveal Christ’s testimony, as His truth is spiritually discerned.
2 Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them
The evidence of the infiltration by the enemy into the church body is two-fold. It shows up in the various belief systems that the clergy clings to after graduating from these so-called centers of higher learning. Then these false teachers in the Christian Church pass on these blatant lies to their congregations, that fully embraces both the teacher and the message.
The teaching of Jesus Christ on tribulations is ignored my many
2 Tim 3:12-13 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
The Great Tribulation and the Wrath of God, represent two unique events, with very different end results. All peoples who are alive on planet earth during the final three and a half years, of this current age, will experience the Great Tribulation. According to the teaching of Jesus Christ, there will be no rapture or gathering of the church, until this time of trouble has expired.
Rev 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
The wrath of God is the eternal separation of the ungodly from His Elect (Math 25:31-32).
1 John 2:26-27 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
If we do indeed have the Spirit of Truth, we will hear the Word and be able to distinguish between correct teachings and fables. An essential teaching of Jesus Christ is to diligently seek to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Tim 2:15).
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
The infilling of the Holy Spirit is our connection with Christ, that teaches guides and shows us things to come. The true followers of Christ, that are Spirit-filled, will not accept lies such as the pretribulation rapture fairy tale.
